UHT, EHT and HT customers requiring dedicated electricity supply capacity pay Contracted Capacity charges for the assets required to supply this dedicated capacity. Any consumption above the contracted capacity level will be charged under "Uncontracted Capacity Charge".

Current Charges - Third Party Recurring EMC Charges


EMC & PSO

EMC stands for Energy Market Company. EMC operates the wholesale market, including settlement. PSO stands for Power System Operator and is a division under the EMA. PSO ensures the security and reliability of the electrical system. Both the EMC and PSO fees are approved administrative costs. The fees are approved by the EMA, and are payble to Energy Market Company (EMC).

Current Charges - Third Party Recurring EMC Charges


MEUC & AFP

Monthly Energy Uplift Charge (MEUC) covers ancillary services needed to maintain security of supply in the system; and other charges. Allocated Regulation Price (AFP) is the charge for supply Regulation services to customers. Regulation is the real-time variation of energy needed to balance between demand and supply. Both MEUC and AFP are payable to the Energy Market Company (EMC).

Current Charges - Third Party Recurring MSS Charges


MSS (Market Support Services) charges is the charges by SP Services (the MSS Licensee). The MSSL provides basic MSS services to contestable customers who all have an MSS Account.

Billing and Collection – for issuing bill, collection and credit risk management;
MSS Basic Services – for account management and customer services;
Meter Reading & Data Management – for reading meter and meter data validation;
Retail Market System Related Charge – to maintain the system that MSSL needs in order to provide MSS Services.

The above charges are approved by the EMA.

Contracted Capacity

Contracted Capacity is the supply capacity in kW to the customer’s metered intake supply point, and is based on the request by the customer and reflected in the Consumer Connection Agreement signed between SP PowerGrid and the customer (or any approved adjustment after that).

Peak Interval Electricity Usage

This is the maximum consumption by your premise in kW. If this exceeds your contracted capacity, an Uncontracted Capacity Charge will be levied. Also known as "maximum demand".

This is the metered consumption at your premise and is used to calculate your Energy Charge. Also known as "non loss-adjusted" energy usage.

The Transmission Loss Factor is based on your supply voltage and is determined by SP PowerGrid.
