         Ministry of the Environment & Water Resources

         This is the most prestigious environmental award in Singapore.
         The award recognises organisations with excellent
         environmental track records and valuable contributions to the
         environment and have adopted and promoted good
         environmental practices both within and outside their
         organisations. This award is a further testimony that the
         company is a true triple bottom line company, concerned not
         only with the financial performance, but also the impact on the
         environment and community.

  • Commitment to Stage 2 Repowering
         The company formally signed a S$750 million Stage 2
         Repowering Contract with EPC consortium comprising
         Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and
         Hitachi Asia to convert 30-year old, oil-fired 3x250MW steam
         plants at Stage 2 into technologically-modern and
         environmentally-friendly LNG/gas-fired 2x430MW combined
         cycle plants. The new plants will make extensive re-use of
         the existing equipment and infrastructure. They are scheduled
         to enter commercial operation in 2012.

  • Divestment from Temasek Holdings to Lion Power
         Consortium

         The company was acquired by the Lion Power consortium
         comprising Marubeni Corporation (30%), GDF Suez S.A.
         (30%), The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (15%), Kyushu
         Electric Power Co., Inc. (15%) and Japan Bank for
         International Cooperation (10%).

  • Watermark Award 2008 from PUB
         The award recognises organisations that have helped to
         ensure a sustainable water supply for present and future
         generations of Singapore. Senoko officially adopted
         Sungei Sembawang and actively collaborates with PUB,
         Waterway Watch Society and 10 neighbouring schools to pick
         up litter at park connectors along the 2.5km waterway. The
         company had earlier received water-efficient building
         certificates and is a member of the 'Friends of Water' by PUB.

  • Launch of UN Environment Programme Climate Neutral
         Network (CN Net)

         Senoko became one of the 13 founding members of CN Net
         pledged to share environmental & community programme and
         work with like-minded countries, cities and corporation to
         achieve carbon neutral footprint in the coming decades. CN
         Net was launched simultaneously on 21 February in Nairobi
         and Monaco, which was attended by a number of Environment
         Ministers.

  • Corporate Network Award 2007 by Ministry of
         Education

         Senoko was bestowed ‘Corporate Network Partner’ in
         providing value-added educational opportunity to teachers
         through work attachment. Teacher work attachment permits
         Senoko to impart corporate work excellence and allow the
         trainees to appreciate the challenges to achieve environmental
         sustainability.

  • Senoko was awarded Singapore CSR Award
         At the inaugural CSR recognition award ceremony, Senoko
         was singled out in the speech of Guest-of-Honour Mr Matthias
         Yao, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Mayor of South East
         District, as the model company on how a corporate
         organisation works with government/people agencies to
         create greater environmental awareness among the school
         population through the National Weather Study Project. The
         recognition is a tribute to the Company’s visionary triple-
         bottomline & walk-the-talk actions on community and
         environmental initiatives.

  • Senoko as one of the Singapore corporate signatory
         to UN Global Compact

         Together with 40 other corporate organisations under the
         auspices of Singapore Compact, Senoko signed the UN Global
         Compact support letter addressed to the UN Secretary-
         General Ban Ki-Moon on 20-April at Shangri La Hotel as a
         corporate commitment towards good business values and
         CSR journey. Senoko will be sharing how corporate CSR
         policies & actions are implemented (eg NWSP, Adopt-A-School
         and other 3P community programme).
